I was always a stepping stone, the middle thing to get you where you're going. I thought if I leave you alone, you'd be keen to call my phone. Turns out that only works on girls that feel the same. Swiping away and coming out without a thing. Not plastered with words like poetry. Or dry remarks with unhappy mean. Picking and scratching at wounds I imagined while bonds were growing stale, tense fragile and frail. Like a character you fell for when you were 19 or more. And suddenly your opinions changed. Half heartedly as I'm turned away.
